In electronics, a boost converter is a circuit that increases the voltage and decreases the current between the supply and load.
The premise is that there’s a transistor inside that functions as a switch. When the switch is closed, an inductor stores energy. When the switch is open, the inductor discharges with a voltage spike. Periodic switching feeds a capacitor, which has a smooth output.
