The great Picard theorem is used in complex analysis. It states that for a function that has an essential singularity at , then in any neighbourhood, the function is equal to any complex number except possibly one value an infinite amount of times, no matter how small or large the neighbourhood is.
Prof Nachman says this is far more rigorous than we need in MAT290, but talked about it as a “taste” of upper-year complex analysis classes.
